A Moment in Time: A Family's Historical Pilgrimage to the Kaaba
We arrived in Mecca and made our way to Masjid al-Haram. The mosque is even more awe-inspiring than I imagined. The vast interior is filled with Muslims from all over the world, all gathered to worship at the holiest site in Islam.
We began the rites of Umrah, starting with Tawaf, the circumambulation of the Kaaba. As we walked around the Kaaba, I felt a sense of peace and tranquility.
My daughter was holding my hand tightly as we walked around the Kaaba. She was so excited, and she couldn't stop smiling. I could tell that this was a moment that she would never forget.
After Tawaf, we performed Sa'i, the running between the hills of Safa and Marwa. This is a reenactment of the journey that Hagar made when she was searching for water for her son, Ismail. As we ran between the hills, I thought about the struggles that Hagar faced, and I was filled with gratitude for the water that she found.
Finally, we performed the prayer of Umrah. As we prayed, we asked Allah to accept our pilgrimage and to guide us on the straight path. We also prayed for our family and friends and for all the Muslims around the world.
